Our home has been modified in line with the principles of Universal Design (2009):

  • Equitable use;
  • Flexibility of use;
  • Simple and intuitive use;
  • Perceptible information;
  • Tolerance of error;
  • Low physical effect,
  • Size and space for approach and use.

A graduated ramp from the roadway to the front inward opening gate,  an extra wide front door, internal bedroom and en suite sliding doors have been hung from the top so there is no lip to bump over on entry.

We also provide secure undercover off street parking for your vehicle – shade in the dry season and shelter during the monsoon or green wet season.

In the bathroom

The shower and hand basin end of the wet room showing the adjustable vanity mirror, lever tap on the free standing hand basin with no pedestal underneath and a mixer tap (temperature controlled) on the shower.  Bath mats and suction non slip bath mats are also provided however these are not shown in this photo.  Folding doors below are the entry into the Azure Kingfisher bedroom and the wet rooms.

The Toilet is located at the other end of wet room – the grab rail is not the traditional angle because of the window configuration however guests with mobility issues who have used this area during their stay have had no problem accessing the facilities.

Easi fold doors with the track at the top not the bottom ensure no wheelchairs have to bump over the obstruction in the floor.  This strategy also reduces any “trips” that may come from our older guests or those with mobility issues.

Specialist equipment may be hired from a local company – Keep Moving who will arrange delivery and pick up of your requested items.  You should contact them on 08 8947 5122 to make arrangements.
